Some Montana features...
Heres a few sketches I did of Montana Forbes features for the breakdown part of the assignment. They are hand drawn and darkened with curves on photoshop.
Montana Forbes facial features
Here is some of my work on the illustrators facial features.
I did these illustrations by hand then touched it up by photoshop. I curved the lines to darken them slightly. This makes them stand out . I then increased the contrast a little so the colouring would show up brigther.
The sketches below are some tracings of Forbes' facial illustrations done by hand.

Tanya Ling final piece
So this is my final piece for the illustrator Tanya Ling. I have included the original Tanya Ling piece along with my own interpretation.
My illustration is the first post. I think it turned out reasonably well although there are some errors. The face shape is a bit off byt i think the colour of the background is good. The garment coloring had some issues but the general idea for watercolouring technique is shown well.

Tanya Ling limb interpretation
My interpretation of how Ling illustrates arms. They are lengthened and claw like. Below is some quick sketches on the legs.

Interpretation of Tanya lings lip shapes
Tanya Ling seems to draw her lips in one hand motion. They can be broken and the sides and distorted shapes. Here are a few examples of a few brief sketches of my interpretation of her lips:
Below are some of her illustrations to show you how she draws her lips.

Tanya Ling heads and faces
These drawings are some sketch work of Tanya Lings type of heads and facial features. The features are very alien like and elongated. The hair she draws always covers the top of the forward at some part to disfigure the face shape further. This is my interpretations.

Continued...
This sketch is further breakdown of the Tanya Ling figure.
As it was very sketchy when scanned in, some touch ups with photoshop was done. Some erasing and darkening of the lines. This was as well as filling some gaps that didnt show up. I could have prevented this by scanning in a cleaner version.

These are my working of the outline of Tanya Lings figures. They are based on the following illustration, names 01221 from her website (www.tanyaling.com) the illustration was used for The Prada Ready to Wear Campaign for a/w 2009.
some curves were used to darken the sketch lines on photshop. Some brief notes were also made while sketching as you can see . |

Practice makes perfect.
The following pictures show the first stages of learning some new skills on photoshop and coral draw.
This first picture is a practice of tracing an outline on coral draw.
The next stage was watercolouring. A small section of the picture has been coloured. It has been done by attempting to re-create the original picture.
The above picture is the original. The next are the the same as above using a different example. |
